Much like in Part 1 where he examines “In Bloom”, Recording Nirvana Part 2 focuses on Butch dissecting the song Poly. In this video he solos out sections of the song, talks about the trials and tribulations of recording the record, and demonstrates how simplicity in production can be beautiful and intense.

I’ve always loved the acoustic guitar sound on this song, it sounds like a well recorded piece of crap, but it fits the vibe perfectly. I also love the fact that not only did Kurt Kobain blow the start, but he also blew the re-intro into the 2nd verse, and they kept it! I always wondered about that.
