Randy Jackson – Producer
Music producer Randy Jackson has quite a history in the biz. In fact, the dude is quite legit. In the world of pop music, a musician and producer like Randy Jackson is somewhat hard to find… he’s been around for some time.
But first and foremost, the guy is a bad ass bass player. I mean, he’s played with Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Journey, Bob Dylan, Aretha Franklin, and uh, Michael Bolton.
Is Randy Jackson a Producer?
Well, yes and no. His track record in the business really has very little to do with producing records. He’s known as a fabulous session guy, a killer bass player, but as a producer? Correct me if I’m wrong, but prior to Idol, I don’t think he really had much experience as a record producer – or at least none that I’m aware of.
I think I’ll stick with his work on Journey’s “Raised On The Radio” as being the barometer for which he’s judged.
By the way, “Pitchy” is NOT A WORD. I hear people using it all the time in the studio now, and It drives me nuts!
